halloween traditions
Just wait and see, Charlie Brown. I'll see the Great Pumpkin.
We watched 'The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown' every year as a child, and its no different for me as an adult. I can't wait for October 31st.

i'm loving wooden jewelry right now. maybe its because the natural wood look feels rustic & autumnish. for whatever reason, this is a great piece by Lauren.

harvest corn chowder
ugh...
Cook bacon in stockpot until browned; remove and transfer to a papertowel, set aside. Discard all but 2 Tablespoons of the drippings.(OR...in stockpot, heat up 2 T. olive oil) Add onions, celery, thyme,salt & pepper, and green chili; cook until onions are translucent. Addstock, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer about 15 minutes.Add corn & potatoes; cook until potatoes are tender, about 10 minutes.Remove from heat. Add half and half, as well as the chicken, andsimmer until soup is hot. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt. Ladlesoup into bowls and garnish by crumbling bacon on top. Don't forgetthe homemade rolls!

a stitch in time
i'm going to make a sewing pin cushion box. these are the only photos i could find to inspire me...i'll post mine when its finished...

cafe style
i almost forgot to mention the green curtain i made. i really cheated with this one, and used a no-sew technique. mainly because my sewing machine won't thread any bobbins.
and yes, as reid pointed out, the fabric is exactly the same color as my nice 'asparagus' paint.
i meant to do that.
